grace

nestled into my faded olive chair,
grounded under a bright white quilt,
i wiggle my ten (hairy) toes and scrunch my widdle button nose.

out my bedroom window,
barren branches stagger against a violet sky.
sun catcher grabs retreating rays, throwing them across decorated walls.

my in-breath brings peace;
my out-breath prompts release.
i let go go go,
and melt further into my chair.

heart open and warming at the recollection of what i love,
the simple pleasures that make life sweet.
hot chocolate and calling my mom;
fiddle leaf fig sprouting a new leaf;
flickering candle called yosemite bringing me back home;
belly full of tofu and cold toes warming up beneath a soft blanket.

all is well here.
rising, falling.
when i notice that i have left, i return.
rising, falling.
so is life.
